On 12th/13th February, Bandi attended the Young People’s Conference in Wales. The title for the day was ‘Getting smart with mobile phones’. The event was organised by the Council for Education in World Citizenship (CEWC), the schools arm of the Welsh Centre for International Affairs, and hosted at the University of Wales, Newport.
The idea was for several organisations working together to create three ChangeMaker conferences for young people and their teachers, with around 50 people in the audience consisting of students (aged 14-18) and teachers at each conference. Bandi presented the opening speech and worked with the student workshops to assist student discussions during the interactive tasks and helped students to think outside the box during the action planning session. It was an exciting opportunity for young people to develop their skills as global citizens and for teachers to link global issues with current education priorities.
